Business-oriented notebooks seems no escape from the advancing trend of slim design and thin. Lenovo ThinkPad X1 which was released in 2011 and has now been updated by adding the word Hybrid in behind him. The uniqueness of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Hybrid is the use of two processors and two operating systems.
Two processors here is not dual core, but really two physical processors the Intel Core i5 or i7 processor and a Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8060 Dual-Core 1.2 GHz. When using a Microsoft operating system Windows 7, the Hybrid will use Intel processors. Well, when switching to the Linux operating system designed specifically (or referred to as Instant Media Mode), the laptop will switch to using Qualcomm processor which makes the batteries can last up to 10 hours. When using Instant Media Mode, you can do quite a lot of things like browsing the Internet, play music, view photos, and run some applications that have been provided by Lenovo. To switch to the Linux OS, only takes about 2 seconds.
From the specs, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Hybrid itself is quite promising. In addition to the Intel Core i, this laptop also has been equipped with 13.3-inch screen (1366 × 768 pixels) with a strong Gorilla Glass, and supports up to 8GB of RAM. Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Hybrid will be available in the second quarter of 2012 with prices starting from U.S. $ 1599.
