"Digital TV": "Tender Opening Start Terrestrial Digital TV"
The Government has opened up business opportunities (tenders) for broadcasting multiplexing in the context of digital terrestrial television broadcasting reception still not paid (free to air). This business opportunity is given to private broadcasting television broadcasting services.
To be able to organize digital terrestrial television broadcasting, the government has signed Decree No. Kominfo. 95/KEP/M.KOMINFO/2/2012 on Business Opportunity On Implementation of multiplexing Broadcasting Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting Operation of Equipment Acceptance Not Paid (Free To Air).
Initially, this service will be opened in the Service Zone 4 (DKI Jakarta and Banten), Service Zone 5 (West Java), Service Zone 6 (Central Java and Yogyakarta), Service Zone 7 (East Java) and Service Zone 15 (Island Riau).
"The selection of private broadcasting television broadcasting services to be defined as broadcasters broadcasting multiplexing implemented through the selection process," said the Head of Information and Public Relations of Ministry of Communications Billy S. Dewa Broto in Jakarta.
The Government claimed that the selection will be made no later than two months since the Minister is determined. Tender is open to all providers of private television, but not mandatory if not pleased.
Billy added that the selection of the five zones because it already represents the location of the readiness of the economy both in terms of infrastructure and community broadcasting. Special zones of Riau considered important because it is related to the border with neighboring countries like Malaysia and Singapore.
